CJ’s Kitchen was a brand new business when we first started working together — a fresh concept from Corinne, who previously ran the much-loved Gourmet Kitchen in Folkestone. The idea was simple: to provide good, home-cooked food in a convenient, oven-ready format for local people who want to eat well but don’t always have time to cook.

The site needed to do a few things really well. First, it had to explain a new type of service — this wasn’t takeaway or on-demand delivery, but a weekly preorder system where meals were delivered fresh from Tuesday to Friday. Second, it had to make ordering simple and intuitive, especially for customers looking to plan their meals in advance.

We built a completely bespoke solution, starting with a clear, well-structured menu that covered the full week and let customers choose their preferred delivery day. Products were grouped into box deals with automatic discounts, and promotional codes were set up for specific campaigns. We also introduced rules for free delivery on orders over £35 to help increase average spend.

On the admin side, we stripped things back to the essentials, giving Corinne a clean, easy-to-use back office with a simplified workflow. Managing the weekly menu is now quick and stress-free — even without any technical background.

As the business has grown, we’ve adapted the site in step. New features have been introduced based on customer behaviour and feedback, including flexible delivery options, clearer messaging around how the service works, and a space to promote Corinne’s growing private catering and events offering — which has generated regular enquiries through the site.

The result is a local food business that’s building a loyal customer base and growing steadily week by week. We continue to work closely with CJ’s Kitchen to support that growth, with regular updates, SEO work and ongoing support.
